As a result of sophisticated researches and developments KBP Instrument Design Bureau have been the first in Russia and worldwide who managed to design and develop an automatic defence system to protect tanks against HEAT munutions.

Cerrently the Drozd active defence system is a unique system worldwide that is mass produced and entered in service.

The latest research activity enabled designers to considerably improve basic characteristics of the Drozd system variant — advanced tank protection system.

The modular design of the Drozd and the Advanced active protection systems makes it possible to install them on any Russian and foreign tanks.
