The artillery armament of modern tanks has
reached its maximum capabilities in terms of ammunition power,
accuracy and firing range. Outfitting the tanks with guided
weapon can solve the problems concerning these limits, as
there is no need to increase the gun fire power and, consequently,
its dimensions and weight. The guided armament has become
the basis of tank fire power.
The lethality of modern antitank munitions
exceeds the protection capability of common tanks and a further
increase in their armor protection is impossible due to limitations
imposed on their dimensions and weight.
In this case the most expedient method of tanks
protection is to equip tanks with active protection system.
The system is able to automatically detect
attacking ATGMs, antitank grenades, HEF projectiles and destroy
them by special munitions.
Nowadays thousands of tanks outdated in terms
of fire power and protection are still in service with the
armies worldwide. KBP can give them a second birth through
the installation of the guided armament package, integrated
day/night automated fire control system and active protection
system.
