international security exhibition

The 15th MILIPOL-2007 international exhibition of armament and equipment for law enforcement forces, subdivision of anti-terror and for special purpose forces was held from September 9-12, 2007 in Paris. The exhibition organized under the patronage of the Government and the Ministry of internal affairs of France is considered to be one of the most authoritative in the field of state internal security. 900 firms from more than 40 countries took part in this exhibition.

The KBP Instrument design bureau organized its stand which was part of the United Russian exposition. 17 examples of small and grenade launcher armament were exhibited there. The AGS-30 automatic grenade launcher, the GM-94 hand-held magazine grenade launcher, the OSV-96, VSK-94, OTs-03 sniper rifles, the PP-2000 submachine gun, the GSh-18 pistol, the 7N31 armor piercing round aroused profound interest of the visitors. These images of the weapon systems examples were constantly shown on the plasma display. Information posters showed their performance characteristics. The back-lit pictures inform the visitors of the KBP-made products.

Government agencies representatives, firms working in this field, journalists and reporters visited the KBP stand.

Analysis of foreign firms expositions, information learnt during talks with the visitors and the talks held permit to draw a conclusion about competitive ability of some KBP-made examples. Magazine grenade launcher GM-94 and its ammunition exceed foreign counterparts shown at the exhibition by a number of principal characteristics (target engagement efficiency, range, practical rate of fire, etc). The GSh-18 pistol, PP-2000 and PP-90M1 submachine guns with 7N31 round also exceed foreign counterparts. The OSV-96 and VSK-94 sniper rifles have a high competitive ability. Possibility of some weapon systems deliveries were discussed during the talks.
