The DEFENDORY specialized international exhibition
of military products for all the services of armed forces
was held in Athens for the 14th time. It was one of the biggest
and most representative exhibitions in the world. Initially
it had been established by the Industrial Exhibitions Organization
of Greece under patronage of the Hellenic Ministry of Defence
and Directorate General (Armament) as a bridge connecting
European defence companies and their Middle East customers.
KBP Instrument Design Bureau participated in
this exhibition for the fourth time and it was not accidental:
KBP considers this region to be of high priority bearing in
mind the prospects of relations with foreign customers. Traditional
participation in this exhibition as well as constantly growing
marketing activities enabled KBP to conclude several large
contracts (including contracts with the Hellenic MoD).
This year KBP had a 24 m2 booth
as a part of a common Russian exposition. KBP together with
its partner — PANHARD (France) — demonstrated the
Kvartet automated launcher installed on the VBL vehicle at
the booth of the French company. Among the multitude of exhibits
displayed at the KBP booth during this exhibition special
marketing efforts were taken to promote close-in portable
antitank guided weapons, especially the Metis-M1 ATGW. The
KBP delegation was headed by A. N. Gladkov, Chief of Foreign
Relations Division.
