EUROSATORY-2006

The 8-th international EUROSATORY-2006 exhibition of land forces armaments was held in France (Paris) in the period from June 12th to June 16th 2006.

The exhibition has traditionally been a show-place of the latest developments and achievements in the area of weaponry design expertise. The business climate at the EUROSATORY-2006 has contributed to the all-time highest number of participants. For the first time in history the number of exhibitors exceeded 1000. 1070 enterprises and companies from 47 countries took part in the event. The exhibition demonstrated not only the modern level of armaments and military hardware of the land forces, but also the perspectives of their development.

At the invitation of France’s military-political leadership the exhibition was attended by governmental, parliamentarian and official military delegations as well as by diplomatic representations from over 75 countries. The show was visited by more than 80 000 experts.

The exhibition organizers noted an increased share (compared to the previous exhibition of 2004) among the exhibited items of high-precision guided weapons providing engagement of pin-point targets and while causing minimum collateral damage to civilian population and facilities.

The exhibited items of armaments and military hardware embraced practically all areas of armament being in inventory of land forces.

Russia is a permanent participant of the EUROSATORY exhibition. The Russian exposition at EUROSATORY 2006, arranged by Rosoboronexport was organised with the view of displaying the most promising avenues of military-technical co-operation. 18 Russian firms exhibited their products under the aegis of the Rosoboronexport company. The product range on display included 120 examples of armaments and military hardware.

The KBP booth was visited by representatives of governments, ministries of defence and other governmental and industrial bodies of various countries as well as members of official international delegations invited to attend the exhibition. All of them showed profound interest in company’s products.

The company’s stand attracted attention of both Russian and foreign mass media.

KBP participated in the exhibition on the basis of Russia’s Government Decree ¹ 1781-ð dated October 22, 2005 and the company’s order ¹ 726 dated December 07, 2005. The company’s stand in a closed hall within the united Russian exposition occupied an area of 24 square meters.

Armaments and military hardware were displayed at the KBP stand in form of mock-ups, posters and models as to the areas of developmental research work: small arms and grenade launchers, ATGWs, guided artillery systems, AA missile/gun systems, upgrade of armoured vehicles. Advertisement films on the exhibited items were constantly shown on the plasma screen monitor. The posters gave explicit information on the technical characteristics of the weapon systems.

Jointly with the PANHARD company, KBP demonstrated for the fourth time in succession the KWARTET automated launcher mounted on the VBL vehicle, as well as a size/weight mock-up of the KORNET-E ATGW with two missiles installed on the reconnaissance vehicle of the same firm.

The infantry PDM-A (Shmel-M) flame-thrower featuring a greater range and enhanced lethal power was for the first time exhibited showing a launch tube, capsule and a poster.

The composition of the exposition gave a general overview about the avenues of engineering development to make high-precision weapons intended for export customers.

The bulk of the tasks set for the KBP delegation before and during the exhibition have been executed. A lot of technical and organisational problems have been anticipated what made it possible to carry out the exhibition at a qualitatively high level.
