“Defexpo India 2010”

The state-of-the-art products of defence industry have been shown at the exhibition complex “Pragati Maidan” by Russia at the sixth International land and naval systems exhibition “Defexpo India – 2010” in New-Delhi.

306 companies took part in that exhibition. Russia, India, as well as over 40 foreign countries participated in the large-scale show of military equipment.

The opening ceremony was led by the head of the Military Department of India Arakkaparambal Antony. Sergey Sobyanin, deputy Prime minister of the Russian Federation, who came to India with a work visit, took part at the ceremony. This year the Russian exposition covering 423 sq.m. was organized by the State Corporation “Rostechnologii”.

The following Russian companies have shown their products at the Russian pavilion: FGUP “Rosoboronexport”, KBP “Instrument Design Bureau”, GNPP “Splav”, OAO “Concern PVO “Almaz-Antey”, “IzhMash”, TsKB “Rubin”, “Avrora”, “Granit”, “Motoviliha” etc. The Russian delegation at the Defexpo India – 2010 exhibition was headed by the first deputy director general of FSVTS of Russia Alexandr Fomin.

The KBP Instrument Design Bureau stand covered 48 sq.m. in the closed pavilion as the part of the unified Russian exposition. KBP delegation was headed by the deputy director general – chief engineer Khokhlov Nikolay.

30 samples of military equipment and armament allowed for exportation were exhibited at the KBP stand. There were constantly shown films on the products exhibited, and the posters provided the information on the design features and performance characteristics of the weapons. The KBP stand was notable for its well-made planning and catching design.

Visitors as well as representatives of the Ministries of Defence of foreign countries and members of official delegations showed interest especially in the following products and complexes: modernization of armored equipment, “Pantsir-S1” air defence missile-gun complex, “Kornet-E” and “Metis-M1” antitank guided weapon complexes, “AGS-30” automatic grenade launcher, PP-2000 submachine gun and small arms in whole, RPO-PDM “Shmel-M”, “Krasnopol-M2” guided weapon complex and “Malakhit” portable automatic fire control system.
