FIDAE - 2010

The XVI International Air and Space Fair "FIDAE-2010" was held at March 23-28, 2010, at the Arturo Merino Benitez International Airport of Santiago, Chile.

Opening the exposition, the president of Chile, Sebastian Piniera, emphasized the importance of the FIDAE exhibition has acquired during the 30 years of its existence. "The FIDAE exhibition is the biggest event of its kind in Latin America and is considered to be one of the 5 most renowned exhibitions on the air and space technologies and products throughout the world", said the president.

24 Russian enterprises took part in the exhibition, 16 defence industries showed their military production: state corporation "Rostehnologii", FGUP "Rosoboronexport", KBP Instrument Design Bureau, FGUP "PO "UOMZ", OAO "OPK "Oboronprom", OAO "Company "Suhoi" etc.

The most notable part of the Russian exposition was the multifunctional turbojet amphibious aircraft Be-200, developed by OAO "G.M. Beriev TANTK". The aircraft was shown at the stationary area and in the demonstration flights, following the Chile part request.

State corporation "Rostehnologii" took the role of the organizer of the Russian exposition. The Russian delegation was headed by the first deputy director general of FSVTS of Russia Alexander Fomin.

As part of the exhibition there were held conferences on the weapon development and production, dozens of meetings and consultations of high importance with political and military leaders of Chile, heads of delegations of Argentine, Brazil, Columbia, Peru, Uruguay and other countries of the Latin America region.

The KBP Instrument Design Bureau stand covered 25 m². in the closed pavilion as part of the unified Russian exposition. The delegation was headed by the director of the KBP branch — "TsKIB SOO" — Victor Zelenko.

According to the head of the FGUP "Rosoboronexport" delegation, Sergey Svetchnikov, Russian small arms are of a high demand on the Latin America weapons market.

The following products and complexes, designed by KBP Instrument Design Bureau, attracted most of the interest of representatives of the Ministries of Defence, official delegations and visitors of the KBP stand: "Kornet-E" antitank guided weapon complex, RPO-PDM "Shmel-M", "Krasnopol-M2" guided weapon complex, OSV-96 sniper rifle, AGS-30 automatic grenade launcher, PP-2000 submachine gun.
