The 11th Langkawi International Maritime
and Aerospace Exhibition "LIMA-2011"
Langkawi island, Malaysia, during the period
from the 6th to 10th December 2011 acquired the Langkawi International
Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition – LIMA-2011.
Main topics of the exhibitions were: aircraft, air defence
equipment, space technologies, naval equipment and armament,
aircraft repair and modernization programs, high-precision
weapons control systems, unmanned aerial vehicles, reconnaissance
means, training simulators and programs. The exhibition was
held under the patronage of the Ministry of Defence of Malaysia.
According to the Minister of Defence of Malaysia
Yb Dato' Deri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, "over the years,
LIMA's success was attributed to the number of exhibitors
and companies taking part. I am pleased that LIMA continues
to draw substantial interest as evident in the increase in
overall participation this year". "For exhibitors,
it will undoubtedly be an excellent platform to attire significant
business opportunities from this growth region".
According to the exhibition organizing committee,
this year the number of participants amounted 254 companies
from 33 countries. Russia was present at the exhibition with
17 companies. Among them, the most significant exposition
was organized by JSC "Rosoboronexport" featuring
the presentation of Russian armament and military equipment
based on the state-of-the-art technologies of 3D modeling
and visualization.
 There
was organized an aircraft exhibition outdoors, with 46 full-scale
and working samples of aircraft, from fighters to small-sized
helicopters and UAVs. Every day there were organized the demonstrational
shows of aircraft adopted by the air force of Malaysia, Singapore,
USA, and others. Throughout the shows, exhibition visitors
could see the SU-30MKM and MIG-29N
fighters in action. 20 combat ships of the Navy of Malaysia,
Australia, India, Singapore, USA and Thailand were present
at the Langkawi port and in the roads.
KBP Instrument Design Bureau took part in the
"LIMA-2011" exhibition at the JSC "Rosoboronexport"
stand with the well-known Pantsir-S1
AD missile-gun system. The company's delegation was led by
the head of the publicity department Alexey I. Korotonozhkin.
The KBP Instrument Design Bureau representatives
have arranged a number of meetings and talks with representatives
of the ASEAN countries and high-ranking representatives of
Russia in Malaysia, namely the ambassador of Russia to Malaysia
and the Russia's representative in Brunei, concerning the
promotion of "Pantsir-S1" AD missile-gun system.
