"IDEX'2007"

The 8th International Defence Exhibition & Conference IDEX-2007 was held in Abu-Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates within the period from February 18th to February 22nd 2007. It has become an important event for the global defense-industrial complex in terms of high technologies development, innovations, co-operation worldwide as well as in terms of further division and penetration of world market by the prominent designers and manufactures of defence products.

Russia is a traditional participant of IDEX starting from the first exhibition in 1993. This time more than 40 enterprises and companies represented achievements of Russian defence industry. KBP has been among the exhibitors at IDEX for the 6th time. KBP delegation was headed by A.L.Rybas, Designer General /Director of our company. At the exhibition KBP occupied a 75sq.m booth within a united Russian exposition, which demonstrated defence products allowed for export. The products range covered the following: small arms and grenade launchers, ATGWs, guided artillery weapons, AA gun/missile systems, upgrading package for armoured vehicles. The exposition presented an authentic view of the lines of developments of highly precise weapons offered by KBP for export.

The representatives of governments, defence and industry, members of international delegations and other official guests of the exhibition from the countries worldwide have visited the exposition of our company. The visitors were mostly interested in Pantsir-S1 missile/gun air defence system, Kornet-E ATGW, Kvartet automated launching unit, Krasnopol-M2 Guided Artillery System, Berezhok and Bakhcha-U upgrading armament packages for armoured fighting vehicles, GSH-18 pistol, PP-2000 machine-gun, GM-94 magazine grenade launcher AGS-30 automatic grenade launcher with GPD-30 round; grenade launchers and small arms as a whole.

Within the frame of participation in the exhibition activity a number of agreements on military- and- technical cooperation with foreign companies was achieved.

For instance, there was an interesting proposal from Belgian and French companies regarding installation of Kvartet system on lightly armoured vehicles like Hummer.

The exposition was arranged at a high technical level resulting from a huge preliminary work, including direct contacts with exhibition officials. Based on the exhibition work results KBP was awarded with a prize “For significant contribution in successful work of IDEX-2007”.
