Development of sporting arms started in 1948 with creation of the MTs1 sporting pistol, and as early as in 1952, at the Olympic Games in Helsinki, the Tula-produced arms brought first gold and silver medals. Shooters, who have fired the MTs arms at Olympic Games, World and Europe Championships and Cups, won in total 136 gold, 112 silver and 83 bronze medals.
