The 2A42 cannon is a multipurpose (war
materiel, exposed manpower, low-flying targets) small
caliber artillery weapon for combat vehicles.
It is intended to equip infantry fighting
vehicles (BMP-2), airborne assault vehicles
(BMD) and flexible weapon mounts of helicopters (Ka-50,
Mi-28).
