PP-2000 is the modern weapon, intended to produce high fire density at short ranges.

An optimal rate of fire and ergonomics serve to controllability in full auto, good pattering and high accuracy. The possibility to use extra magazine that serves as a shoulder rest, gives a considerable increase of ammunition load. A wide use of high-strength plastics allows reducing weight and increasing corrosion resistance. The submachine gun has a rail for mounting various types of scopes. The PP-2000 is also supplied with a silencer.

With minimum weight and dimensions, comparable to that of modern combat pistols, the PP-2000 provides effective fire at the distances up to 200 m. The use of the 9x19 mm pistol cartridge with armor-piercing bullet (designated as the 7N31) makes it possible to penetrate body armor.
